Anamaria Chediak
El lente de Anamaria no conoce fronteras, captar la esencia de las diversas culturas y la vida animal alrededor del mundo ha sido la inspiración de su fotografía.
Born in Quito, Ecuador, I studied Advertising and Marketing in Boston before dedicating myself to studying photography in Madrid, which cemented my passion for sharing my vision of the world through visual stories.
I find peace in wild places; inspiration in the balanced and harmonious; connection in conversations and shared emotions; intellectual challenge in framing colour, composition and light at just the right moment.
Having grown up in one of the planet’s most biodiverse and culturally-diverse nations, I cultivated an intense interest in both the natural world — and wildlife in particular — as well as for identity and cultural manifestations, keen to celebrate the power of diversity in our increasingly homogenous world.
I am driven by an insatiable curiosity, born from my early explorations of the Andes, the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands, and by an indomitable passion for understanding; then sharing what I have captured with a wider audience.
Only when lost in the wilds of the natural world do I truly connectwith a primeval force, find the real meaning offreedom and the true purposeof my existence
Over the years, I have portrayed hundreds of the women I have met across the globe. They have become an important part of my calling, forming an ongoing, empathetic project.
While always wanting my work to speak meaningfully to people, to elicit an intellectual response, the power of beauty to communicate — like a rush of blood to the head, when your senses spark a feeling that is both intimate and hugely powerful — is always present.
As the environmental crisis has grown, I have found myself employing photography more politically, as a tool for raising awareness. Whether as a mother of children learning about the world, a teacher of my craft or an exhibitor of my work, my exaltation of the natural world has increasingly become a cry for awareness and for change. If my work can play a part in making us reflect on our responsibility to the planet more deeply, then my efforts will have been worthwhile.
Testimonios
“As you dive into this glorious book by Anamaría Chediak and begin absorbing her breathtaking images, you begin to understand what Darwin found so magical about this place... Anamaria’s images are pure poetry and capture so perfectly not only the magic of the place but also the reason why it must be protected” said regarded to her book “GALÁPAGOS Life & Evolution”.

“What set this book apart for me was the combination of portraiture alongside the wildlife photography. Here we see a vision of Africa that is more than a landscape – it´s a home. A place where, for millennia, families have lived alongside their wild neighbors. Their lives are tied to the land in ways that many of us can only imagine. And in their faces Anamaria Chediak shows us both the struggle and hope of a continent” said regarded to her book “Africa”.

“With the passion of an alchemist, Anamaria Chediak takes the resources of photography to the limit and incorporates mystery into her work. Anamaria's alchemy harks back to those who seek the philosopher's stone and reveals new horizons that are increasingly profound and mysterious”.
